Roof inspection: noise in the loft
A tenant in an apartment building complained about noise coming from the loft. The question was what was making the sound — and how to find out without putting up scaffolding or opening up the structure.
The brief
To find the cause of the noise without physical access to the loft. The traditional route runs through scaffolding or a lift, and that costs both time and money before you even know what you are looking for.
The finding
The drone footage showed that a rook had built a nest in the roof structure. The bird can be seen flying out of the roof in the recording, documenting both the cause and the exact location.
The result
The owner got a quick answer without scaffolding and without physical access, and could go straight to a solution instead of troubleshooting.
